Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready for more guest announcements? First up is a first time Rock and Shock attendee, Traci Lords. Traci first gained notice as a serious actor with 1988’s sci-fi/horror hybrid Not Of This Earth, but it was the 1990 John Waters classic Cry Baby that cemented her place in the field. She would work with Waters again for Serial Mom as well as appearing in popular films such as Blade and Kevin Smith’s Zack and Miri Make A Porno. Horror fans may also remember her from The Tommyknockers and HBO’s Tales From The Crypt series, and she gained the biggest critical acclaim of her career in 2012 with her role in Excision.
We’re very happy to report that author Jack Ketchum is making his return to the show this year. Jack has been terrifying fans since his debut in 1980 with Off Season, and in the meantime has won numerous Bram Stoker awards for his novels as well as short fiction. Grounded in reality, Ketchum’s work such as Right To Life, Hide And Seek and Joyride will have you looking over your shoulder, knowing that what you’re reading could actually happen. Many of his books have been adapted to film, such as The Lost, The Girl Next Door and Red. When director Lucky McKee worked with Ketchum to adapt The Woman it began a partnership between the two that led to them cowriting the 2012 book I’m Not Sam.
Speaking of authors, Rock and Shock favorite Joe Knetter will be with us this October. Those of you that have met Joe know that he is without filter and without compare, providing a fun and hilarious experience to those that stop at his table or see him on a panel. As for his books, well, there’s no filter there either. Titles like Twisted Loneliness, Room and Grave Mistake contain tales of the most gruesome and disgusting horror you can find, often with a twinge of demented humor as well. Joe will soon be releasing a new collection, Inspired Nightmares, which he should have in time for the show.
Sarah French will be back with us this year as well! A look at Sarah’s body of work reveals a powerful combination of beauty and intelligence, with her modeling photos as well as her articles for the magazine Shock Horror, but it is the art of acting that has proven to be her passion. Breaking out in 2007 with the short You’re Next 3, Sarah quickly learned her craft and gained respect for roles in Terror Overload, Shriek Of The Sasquatch and Zombie Pirates. She recently finished Insectula and Chainsaw Maidens, and is about to star in the next film in the Lazarus series, Lazarus Apocalypse. Fans of fellow Rock and Shock guests Twiztid will also recognize Sarah from her appearance in their video for Boogieman.
Please help us welcome all four of our new guests to Rock and Shock 2015, and keep your eyes open for even more announcements soon!
